Mellow Pads is a 40 pad patches collection for U-He Hive 2 synthesizer. Main characteristic of the soundbank is the calm feeling and the dreamy atmosphere of the 40 presets.
 
The patches have a focused sonic character – to be used as background calm sound layer on music tracks of many genres. Some classic 90’s elements of the synthesizers of this era and the distinctive sound of the pads of this decade, could be easily identified. Only than now with Hive 2 we add movement in a variety of ways with its great modulation sources. Especially the Function modules of the synth are widely used in most of the synths pads here.
 
A Nice Forest patch has a nice rhythm pattern combining with synth strings sound while Back To Nineties has more distinctive steplike movement. Bright Memories is very expressive on the high and mid highs frequencies while Crystal Clear has a very calming clean sound. Endless Oceans comes from the heavy influences of New Age music and Follow Me sounds a bit more majestic than other presets here. In Outter Space is pretty much synthetic while Liquid Fires sounds very nostalgic and emotional. Moving In Mind has a soft saturated tone and finally the Green Fields is constantly evolving.
 
Beside the function modules and other LFO and ENVs which have been used for creating additional dimensions and movement, MW is assigned to add vibrato – If you need to change the Vibrato rate just look to the Vibrato Lfo specific region at the down left, next to Hive’s Keyboard. Aftertouch is adding some movement in pitch – especially interesting and creative if being used for short instances in time.
 
Presets were designed with Hive2 v2.1.1 and run best with this or newer version of the synth
