Terms of service

Welcome to Vicious Antelope. These Terms of Service (“Terms & Conditions”) outline the rules, rights, and obligations governing your use of this website and the purchase of our products. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. License Grant

Upon purchasing our soundbanks, Kontakt libraries, guitar amp presets, or sample packs, you are granted a Non-Exclusive, Non-Transferable License to use the included content in both commercial and non-commercial music compositions.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Digital releases (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
  • YouTube and social media
  • Music libraries
  • Film and television
  • Video games
  • Vinyl and physical releases
  • Live performances
  • Client projects

There are no limitations on distribution platforms or release formats.

When we create sequenced presets using a synthesizer’s sequencer, arpeggiator, or other modulation sources (for example pitch modulation, Acid-style sequencing, modular routing, etc.), those sequences are intended as a foundation for crafting your own unique melodies.

The same principle applies whenever modulation or internal synth sources generate melodic material. These elements are starting points for inspiration and must be transformed into your own original musical work.

2. Editing and Sampling Rights

You may freely sample, process, edit, layer, and manipulate any of our preset sounds or sample pack content within your productions.

However, please note:

  • We do not own the rights to factory samples included with third-party synthesizers.
  • We do not own the rights to any factory content provided by synthesizer developers.

Therefore, you must review and comply with the terms and conditions of the respective synthesizer or software developer regarding the use of factory samples.

3. Usage Scope

Preset Level

Each preset — including sample-based presets — may be used individually as a single channel within your commercial or non-commercial track without any duration limitation.
There is no requirement to layer it with other sounds.

Synth Instrument Level

For presets created using factory samples that come with a synthesizer, we do not hold the rights to those samples. You must refer to the original synth developer’s license regarding:

  • Standalone usage
  • Restrictions concerning factory samples
  • Any layering requirements
  • Instrument-specific limitations

You are responsible for ensuring compliance with the original developer’s license agreement.

4. Demonstration Media

Each soundbank includes a dedicated demonstration video on our YouTube channel.

For certain soundbanks, complete music tracks may also be available.
If any section of a demonstration track uses elements outside the specific soundbank being presented, this is clearly and discreetly noted.

These tracks may include percussion or drum elements from the associated music project.

5. Authorship

All demonstration fully produced tracks provided for soundbanks, where available, are composed, created, and performed by Vicious Antelope. For the walkthrough videos the music parts are performed by Vicious Antelope.

6. VAT

Prices include VAT where applicable according to local regulations.

7. Digital Delivery

All products are delivered as digital downloads and are sent to the email address provided at checkout.

For certain Kontakt Libraries, distribution is handled through the Pulse app.

If you require renewed access after expiration, contact: info@viciousantelope.com

8. Warranty & Liability Disclaimer

All products are provided “as-is” without warranty of any kind.

While many presets are demonstrated in product videos prior to purchase, we do not guarantee that any product will meet your specific personal requirements.

Vicious Antelope shall not be liable for:

  • Equipment damage
  • Hearing loss
  • Data loss
  • Profit loss
  • Any indirect or consequential damages
  • Errors, bugs, or incompatibilities

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific product.

Given the complexity of sound design and synthesizer behavior:

  • Some presets may not be mono compatible.
  • Always verify mixes and masters in mono.

8a. Gain Staging & Safe Operation

To protect your equipment and hearing:

  • Carefully manage synth output levels.
  • Avoid digital clipping.
  • Use limiters when appropriate.
  • Maintain safe monitoring levels.

Final output levels may vary depending on:

  • Velocity
  • Polyphony
  • Layering
  • Modulation routing
  • Other

Certain synth parameters (e.g., high filter resonance, distortion, saturation) can significantly increase signal intensity.

Users are fully responsible for:

  • Safe listening levels
  • Proper gain staging
  • Equipment protection

Refer to hardware manuals for safe operating guidelines.

Unpredictable Sonic Behavior

Synthesizers include:

  • Voltage processors
  • Amplifiers
  • Modulation sources
  • LFOs
  • Sample-and-hold modules
  • Filters
  • Compression/expansion processors
  • Feedback routing
  • Other

These systems can produce:

  • Clicks
  • Crackles
  • Sudden volume spikes
  • Continuous noise
  • Extremely heavy or aggressive sonic output

Such behavior may be intentional as part of sound design experimentation.

Unpredictable sonic variations can occur in virtually any synthesizer.

Always monitor output levels carefully, including but not limited to when:

  • Using audio feedback paths
  • Connecting external inputs
  • Experimenting with high-resonance or distortion settings etc.

Presets may produce high output levels.
Users assume full responsibility for safe monitoring levels and proper gain staging within their audio system.

Some irregularities (such as clicks from square wave LFO modulation) may be intentionally designed for character and texture.

9. Guitar Amp Presets

The same principles apply to guitar amp presets.

Output levels were optimized using specific guitars during development.
Please adjust input and output levels according to your own guitar and interface setup.

10. Sample Packs - Kontakt Libraries

Sample packs and Kontakt Libraries are licensed for use within musical compositions and audio productions.

You may:

  • Use samples royalty-free in commercial and non-commercial works
  • Edit, process, layer, and manipulate samples

You may not:

  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense, share, or repackage the samples as standalone files
  • Upload them to sample marketplaces
  • Include them in competing sound libraries
  • Share them publicly in isolated or extractable form

Samples must be embedded within a larger musical work.

All samples are licensed under a non-exclusive, non-transferable license and remain the intellectual property of Vicious Antelope.

10a. Artificial Intelligence Restrictions

The content may not be used for training, development, or improvement of any artificial intelligence, machine learning models, or similar technologies.
This includes, but is not limited to, dataset creation, sound analysis, or any process intended to replicate, emulate, or derive new audio content based on the original samples.

11. Sequencer & Melodic Content Disclaimer

Vicious Antelope disclaims any liability for potential copyright infringement arising from melodic lines generated by:

  • Synth sequencer modules
  • Arpeggiators
  • Modulation sources
  • Any melodic-generating function within a preset

Default melodic sequences may not be used in their original unmodified form in commercial releases.

You are responsible for transforming such material into original compositions.

They are not officially developed, endorsed, or affiliated with any synthesizer, amplifier, or plugin developer mentioned.

20. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

In such cases, obligations shall be suspended for the duration of the force majeure event.

23. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, such provision shall be deemed severed from the Terms without affecting the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall remain in full force and effect.
