Barren Atmospheres is a collection of 30 presets for the Cherry Audio ODC 2800 focused entirely on dreamy vintage ambient sounds, open analog-inspired pads, and spacious electronic textures influenced by classic atmospheric music of the 80s. This soundbank was designed around the organic tone and nostalgic character of the synthesizer, exploring warm harmonic depth, soft modulation movement, slow evolving layers, and gentle synthetic ambience suitable for ambient music production.

We didn’t reinvent the wheel here. The goal of the collection was simply to capture the recognizable emotional identity of vintage ambient synthesis and the classic tonal behavior often associated with older electronic recordings. Because of this approach, several presets intentionally share related characteristics and subtle tonal similarities, creating a coherent palette of sounds for ambient-focused compositions.

The presets move through airy analog pads, slow drifting textures, mellow synthetic choirs, luminous harmonic layers, and understated atmospheric synth tones with soft movement.
